Proudly Here

Proudly Here is a video series showcasing six diverse LGBTIQA+ people in Ballarat, and their experiences across the past 40 years.

Proudly Here highlights pride in Ballarat, Victoria and the positive changes local communities have achieved together.

Be taken on a journey through time as you hear from Rick on what it was like in Ballarat during the 80’s, listen to Sandy and Helen’s heartwarming story on getting married before the ‘Yes’ vote and then formalising it after same-sex marriage was legalised and hear about an Indigenous ED nurse, Xander, making hospitals more inclusive and accessible and many more!

Proudly Here was created in partnership with Speak and MDP Photography and Video and is proudly supported by Melbourne Pride and Midsumma in celebration of 40 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Victoria.
